Matt Pillion (vocals, various instruments), Kevin Cunningham (guitar), Dan Haase (bass) and Eric Skye (drums) rolled out the night with the first track from the name album “Keeps Me Alive”. What a better way to introduce the album. With a soft start, absent of drum, Pillion’s voice drew the attention of everyone inside and out on the patio. Slightly He had a beautiful range from subtle toned to a dynamic sonorous cry. The melody was fluid and pleasant to as into as well as the uplifting lyrics. In Pillion’s case, I’ve never seen one person utilize so many different instruments throughout their performance. He, as they cycled through their songs, not only sang but played guitar, saxophone and a keyboard. Being a multi-instrumentalist not only pulled various elements into their music, but also was also very amusing to observe. To add to their uniqueness, Cunningham took guitar solos to a different height for me. To call it delicious and riveting would be a complete understatement.
