Slimfast Thesis Statement

The ad from the weight-loss brand Slimfast displays a slim woman revealing her stomach and appearing excited as she grasps the product which the designer desires to sell. Next to the woman, a quote appears stating, “I lost 8 lbs in just 2 weeks with Slimfast Advanced!-Dailyn”. The quote most likely comes from the woman displayed in the ad, or someone who experienced positive results from using the product shown. The background surrounding the woman is plain, despite various encouraging words. This indicates that the designer wants the viewer to focus on the happiness of the woman and the appearance of her body. The products displayed below the woman are also common snack foods, which may appeal to people who want to lose weight without giving up their favorite foods. Words of encouragement and praise also surround the woman, such as “It’s your thing” and “Amazing taste”. These statements push the viewer to believe that Slimfast is the weight loss product they have been waiting for, and that they will still be able to enjoy great tasting food while losing weight. Since the descriptive paragraph creates the setting of the ad and presents different details for analysis, it acts as an introduction to the body paragraphs inferring the significance of each detail. Therefore, adding a thesis at the end emphasizes my main points and makes the central ideas of my paper more apparent to the reader. I also rephrased some of my sentences or broke them down into more detail so that each of my points is fully supported by details in the ad. This emphasizes each of my points of analysis, and once again makes each detail clearer. In this addition, I can achieve my purpose of analyzing the ad while keeping my supporting details concise and
