In all versions of “Sleeping Beauty” there is some sort of opposition of for the relationship between her and the prince. Whether that opposition is a magical “Mistress of All Evil”(Sleeping Beauty) or if it is the mother of the prince, or even the king’s wife, all of them challenge and threaten the safety of “Sleeping Beauty.” As love conquers all “Sleeping Beauty” and the prince always overcome their troubles and true love conquers all. Another, maybe less noticeable moral is that you need to have courage and to be willing to go through trials to have true love. As always, the prince has to adventure into a dangerous area to find a princess to hopefully awaken and to make sure she is protected from all danger. To obtain true love you need to be willing to put yourself on the line to achieve that happiness. Although the version by Giambattista Basile is shadier with her giving birth while unconscious but it all still applies as they both have to overcome a crazed queen that tries to murder “Sleeping Beauty” and that the love they have in each other overcomes their trials. “Sleeping Beauty” is a great example to children that true love can and will help them overcome all their trials and this story will give many young girls hope that they will find their true
