Psychodynamic psychologists focus on talking about childhood issues and analyzing dreams. In A’s situation, depression might be caused by repressing anger. When you repress, anger can be turned inward and turn to self-hate, which explains why A doesn’t enjoy her life and sees everything with negativity (Bond et al. 2005).
