This study unlike the others did not address other issues regarding sleep. Its focus was discussing how the quality of sleep or sleep duration, with implications as to the benefits of each. These results push that adequate sleep can prevent chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and even encourage achievement.
Although this literature review is reflective of sleep deprivation and college students, this article shed light that many of these college students created habits as far back as high school. A habit is a routine behavior, something that becomes part of your everyday schedule. This study suggests that students will continue to loss sleep as their grade level increases. As a senior graduate from high school, and set out on their journey to college one can only imagine with newfound freedom, how many hours of sleep will be lost.
