Once Africans reached the United States they were pampered up to make them look good so they could be sold for a good price. Slaves were sold and bought just like property and they were displayed in front of everyone and anyone could come up to “inspect” the African. After they were sold, the person selling the African would write how much the Africans were sold for and their physical attributes to keep track of the potential slaves used. The slave owners owned their slaves in every sense. They were allowed to do whatever they wanted to do with their “property”. In sum, slaves were no longer considered human beings the moment they were sold and they become property to whoever bought
