Slaves did what they could to improve their small food and clothing problems. Some planters offered more food or better conditions. There is a quote about slavery and it reads: “The punishments were whipping,putting you in the stocks{wooden frames to lock people in} and making you wear irons and a chain at work. Then they had a collar put around your neck with two horns,like cow’s horns so you could not lie down....Sometimes they dig a hole like a well with a door on top. Family was a very important aspect of slaves. Even when they had a long day at work they would still go if they had the opportunity. Some of the time if they don’t have the opportunity to see their family, so they work through the day just so they can see their family. Finding things to do with other people could be hard to find because they’re scared of what they might do. There also scared because of what has happen to them in their lifetime and it's hard to get over it. So in conclusion slaves could be useful for many things but do we really want to use them for things we can do. We are capable to do our own things and not have to use them for our things that we can all do. Slaves have a lot going on in there life and we shouldn't use them for anything. The things that they have to do is just hard enough for them. Their life is just so different from ours that it's hard for us to get along to them because they're scared of people and they think were gonna do
