The climate of the South was warm and sunny with long summers, mild winters, and lots of rain. The population in the South wasn’t as great as in the North because of the huge agriculture. Agriculture was the center of economy. Tobacco, rice, sugar cane, cotton, and indigo were sold as cash crops. If you were a wealthy plantation owner you had a greater chance of sending your children to get a education, and were upper class. There cities were counted as farms because the whole South was mostly all farms big or small. One-third of the population was slaves and the other two-thirds were whites.
In comparison both states had ups and downs. They weren’t perfect, but they had there own ideas. For instance the south had slavery, and the north was free. Even though the blacks in the north were free they were discriminated every chance the whites got. The slaves were beaten for no reason.
Some of the differences between the North and South are; in the south blacks and slaves were beaten when they didn’t do a job right, they were disrespectful, and sometimes for no reason. In the north the blacks were heavily discriminated and sometimes got beat up by white gangs. It is different because the blacks in the north are free and the blacks in the south are free.
