When Christopher Columbus found this new land they sent more Europeans over the new world after they got the news. When the others got here the land was all forest and there were heaps of open land but no one too farm it. They started to farm on it , but they needed some help so they went out into the woods to find Indians so they could enslave them and make them work in the fields. The Indians were good workers , but they died to easily because they weren't immune to the European disease and the warm heat because they were found up high in the Americas and so they began to die off. Plus there were laws that if a slave did something bad , than they would acquire punishments for it and the government published it. A couple laws were that blacks could not bear arms, that if a black woman had a kid than they were a slave too, that black woman could be taxed, that if a slave resist arrest than they had permission to wound or kill them.
Slave trade was a very horrendous thing in the Atlantic world because you get kidnapped then chained together with other Africans than put on a ship with limited room and ride that ship for a long time to a strange place with strange people and then have to work for them until you die and than you kids and grandkids are going to have to do the same thing you did.
