Slang Definition

Slang are words that are not part of standard vocabulary or language and are used informally these words are mostly used in speech rather than writing. Slang usually used by young people, although nowadays many old and young people use it in texting each other or at home, schools and public places. One example the word ‘innit’ which means ‘is not it’ and nowadays most of the British people use it in daily life. Another example, most of young people use the word ‘fam’ which means ‘close friend’ or ‘family’ and the word ‘bare’ that means ‘lots of’ or ‘many’.
Dialect is the language of an area such as Birmingham, London or Liverpool. In each area people use different language features as an example in Birmingham, people do not pronounce the letter ‘T’ and in Liverpool people speak with ‘Scouse’ accent they ‘chocka’ which means ‘busy’.
Sociolect is a language of a social group who live in an area and use different words from the other group who lives in the Same area. For example, most of the people who live in Birmingham call bread ‘ bread roll’ but there are some other group who lives in the same area call it ‘ cab’ or ‘bap’.
