Could you imagine football, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, and trampolines mixed? Sounds like chaos, right? If you can and it sounds like fun, then you might like slamball. Slamball has a short history, many tough rules, and six teams that competed. Slamball started in a small warehouse in Los Angeles, California. The idea of slamball came from a video game and the creator Mason Gordon wanted to create it into a real life video game. Open tryouts were held based on athletic ability, body control, and court awareness. Reducing numbers to about sixty players, the first ever Slamball combine was held where players and coaches learned safety, the game and basic strategy.Slamball is not only a mix of basketball and football it’s basketball, football, hockey, and gymnastics.Slamball made its debut on Spike TV in 2002. For instance during regulation play only four members from the team are allowed on the court. Also only three personal fouls can be committed before being disqualified from the game. Another rule is (obviously) to score you have to get the ball in your hoop for it to count. There also can’t be two people on the same trampoline , and if this happens it results in a turnover. After a foul is committed it will result in a faceoff in which the two players will go head to head and the player with the ball will try to score and the defensive player will try and not let that happen. are many more rules however there are some playing regulations. Like games are played in four five minute quarters. To begin regulation play the game commences with a “bounce-off” in which the ball is bounced at center court. After two of the five minute quarters there is a ten minute halftime break, only 1 timeout is permitted to each team which may only be used in the last two minutes of regulation play, and there is a fifteen second shot clock that is
