If anyone were asked to describe her, feisty, rude, blunt, hostile, anything along those lines would most likely be their response. Ask her counterpart, or a close friend, and it's possible that they would respond a simple "bittersweet". On those rare days, she wouldn't go out. At least not to more then one place.…

Suddenly, I found myself beginning to radiate golden light as my body faded from existence; then before I knew it, I rematerialized out of thin air. This does not happen often, so I was rather confused as I stood atop a cloud, high up in the sky. That is, until I noticed a large, human-like figure appear before me in a holy light. He raised his hands and smiled down at me before bellowing out, “Behold, for it is I; Gabe Newell!”…

However, the feminine journey differs, instead the protagonist determines there is something about their life that must change, and only they themselves, through their own free will, can resolve it. Characters such as Alba, Fa Mulan/ Kingston, and Rahel take the challenge to tackle their deepest psychological issues while simultaneously confronting the patriarchy and political corruption. These female authors successfully preserve the female voice and challenge patriarchal culture through their use of mystical realism (Jenkins). Beginning with The God of Small Things, the vulnerable…
