Skiping Practices In Wrestling

Improved Essays
Wrestling is a sport most people do so they can do better in other sports. They want to do good in wrestling to show their coaches that they are very strong athletes physically and mentally. Most people tend to not know the real ways of becoming good. Wrestlers have so many ways to becoming great, and they have to go on the bumpier road to get better, not the smooth one.
Skip Practices
One of the steps to becoming a wrestler is that practice does not make people better and, definitely, won’t make make them good at wrestling. If they want to talk about how to get good, they should consider skipping practices and being present once in awhile. Skipping practices is beneficial to the body because they won’t have to get their heads banged around to the point of getting concussions and have their arms and legs breakdown and not work like they would normally would. The practices will only waste the wrestlers’ time and won’t have time for anything else. Whenever a wrestler goes to a practice, the recommended thing to do is just mess around on the mats and not follow the coach's instructions.

It will definitely make the wrestler better because he will mostly let the opponent win and he will have done a good deed of making the opponent feel good for himself. It is just a waste of time trying to get the victory if you are out on the mat for ten minutes straight and can not get a victory. This will show the coaches that the wrestler doesn’t have a desire to win and has been doing what has to be done on the mat. The first day I came in I looked around the room and tried to spot the more experienced wrestlers, from the beginner wrestlers. Once I noticed who needed a specific one on one partner or was not quite understanding a move, I would go wrestle with them and teach them slowly until they understood the movement. Only after a couple try's would the kids learn the move. I believe wrestling sometimes needs to be taught one on one because not everyone can jump right into the movement, yet they have to walk threw it slowly until they fully understand what to do and feel the muscle connection of the movement. For example the first week of practice I was teaching Robbie how to do a switch from bottom position, when while he was doing the sit out just fine, he wasn't putting his hand in the right place when he would hit the switch (which would be in between my legs) rather he would put his hand to the outside of my leg and wasn't hitting the switch properly.…
