Skin Discoloration

Decent Essays
Yes, it is common for pregnant women to notice some changes in the colour of their skin. This occurs due to the pregnancy hormones which can temporarily increase the melanin content in your body.

This increased melanin can cause colour changes in areas where the skin colour is already dark - your areolas, scars and freckles. If you generally have dark coloured skin, you may also notice discoloration on your upper lips and forehead. Skin discoloration can also occur in areas that are exposed to friction like your thighs, underarms and the skin around your genitals
