This type of cancer is normally not life threatening, but if it is untreated then it can spread around the body making it difficult to deal with and more likely to life threatening. Just like most skin cancers, the way to be diagnosed with squamous cell cancer is by absorbing too much UV rays especially without any protection to the skin. Too much sun exposure and tanning beds is normally how most people get this cancer. Avoiding the UV rays from tanning beds and the sun is a simple way to prevent yourself from getting squamous cell cancer. Symptoms of this cancer can be simply by a sore of some sort whether it is red, elevated, flat, or patch. Randomly finding one of these markings on your body is something that you should be concerned about and should take action into going to the doctor and figuring out if it just a regular sore or something serious. This can be found anywhere on the outer layer of the skin and even in the mouth. If the scab or sore does not hell in a reasonable time then it is time for you to go see a doctor to go check out if it is a serious matter. If a person has fair skin, history of sunburns, excessive UV ray exposure, weak immune system, and history of skin cancer if their family they are more likely at risk in getting squamous cell cancer. People who are more at risk have to be more careful than others who are not. Most doctors will surgically remove it by scrapping, freezing, or laser removal.
