Skin Cancer The abnormal growth of skin cells is what causes skin cancer. This is sometimes brought on by too much expose to the sun. Checking your skin regularly for any abnormalities is important to detecting skin cancer at the earliest stages. Skin cancer normally appears on areas of the body that get exposed to the sun. Ears, the scalp, hands, face and the nose are areas that are high risk for skin cancer. Skin cancer will occur due to changes in the DNA of the skin cell. These mutations will cause the cells to grow abnormal and will result in a mass of cancer cells.
