In most individual cases of cancer, exact cause is unknown, although most causes are linked to increased genetic susceptibility, lifestyle factors including diet, damage caused by infectious diseases and many more. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer for both men and women. Many characteristics can influence the development of cancer. Overexposure to the sun and trips to the tanning bed put someone at the risk of skin cancer.
