Our hotel was right on the beach and we only had to walk a few hundred feet to the shore. When we got to the beach my brother tried first. We looked up on Youtube how to ride a skim board on the day before. It showed that you start striding in the water near the shore where it is only a few inches deep. Then you reach down and slide the board on the water, and then you jump on and revel in the ride. My brother did not do this. He threw the board down and jumped on, and he completely blundered and fell straight on his back. Next was my turn. I took a deep breath and smelled the salt in the air. I ran and slid the panel on the shore and did the same exact thing. Only the board traveled much further down the shore without me on it. After I got up with a mouth full of salt and sand, we continued doing this for awhile each time getting a little bit better. We were able to not fall off completely, we just slid off after we jumped on. It was very slippery, almost like jumping on a bar of soap. After about an hour, we decided to call it for the day and headed back to the hotel
