Having the Craft of Research article that give things to look for in an article to prove it is a valid source to use was very helpful. The article said to look for things like the author, editor, and sponsor. These seem like basic things to include in an article, but once I started looking at online sources for my research essay, I soon realized that not a lot of websites include these things, so there is no way to tell if a source is credible or not. The Craft of Research article also said to look for things like date of publication. If a source is old, it could be outdated and the information could be wrong. Also I learned to look for biases if researching a topic of controversy. The research essay I just completed for comp2 probably taught me the most. It taught me to really read a source, and search for the factors that make it a credible source to use. It also taught me to manage my time, most of our essays before were just analysis of other writings and writers, but this Essay required at least seven pages and a lot of research. By doing all the research and then writing the paper I really learned how to use my time to properly accomplish everything that the essay required, by the time it was due. Comp2 has changed the way I write for the better. Little errors that I would miss, now catch my eye and I know to fix them. And it has taught me to follow MLA
