Even though businesses will knowingly hire undocumented immigrants, it will be the government’s duty to arrest individuals and close down businesses to avoid this from happening again. and This will help decrease the amount of illegal immigrants that apply or work for these businesses because these immigrants will not have the required documents needed for the job and would not have the obligatory papers to stay in the U.S. This would then allow Americans more jobs in businesses in the U.S. thus decreasing illegal immigrants in the United States as well because then they would not have jobs which would accommodate for their homes, food, clothing, children, and etc. The U.S. can increase the number of jobs for Americans by expanding I-9 audits which attacks individuals who have profited from hiring illegal immigrants, in which both the illegal immigrants and those who employed them will be penalized. This will lead to the reduction of illegal immigrants because these inspections will make sure that illegal immigrants are not hired since these illegal immigrants will not want to be arrested or caught by the government.…

In May 1939, the United States sent nearly 1000 people to their deaths when they refused to allow a ship named the Saint Louis to dock at American ports because of immigration policy. Now we hold holocaust parades and have memorials just to say we will never again sit idle and let people like them die, whether they be foreign or not. Yet every year, hundreds of thousands of immigrants die from international terrorist groups such as ISIS or the National Liberation Army (ELN) while sitting on the waiting list to enter into the U.S. legally. While there has been bipartisan immigration reforms from Carter’s Mariel Boatlift to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, it can still take months just to apply for a visa and years to…

In 2014, even with the 11.3 million illegal immigrants supposedly ruining our economy, the United States experienced its best period of job growth since 1999, with “the U.S. adding over 200,000 jobs every month in 2014 except two” (Egan and Long). The last two months of 2014 were especially strong with the addition of “321,000 jobs in November, a number far greater than the 230,000 economists were predicting” (Sharf), and 252,000 jobs added in December. This surge in employment has continued its momentum in 2015 cutting the unemployment rate to 5.1%, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the lowest it has been in seven years. Conservative politicians, and their followers, are always quick to blame the deterioration of the American economy on the illegal immigrants, who essentially allowed us to add 2.95 million jobs last year (Egan & Long); this has led to lawmakers demanding a mass deportation policy, an action that would do more harm to our economy, rather than an integration policy that would be economically beneficial for…
