Skill Area #1: Social Interaction/Cognitive Skills
Sadie demonstrated age-appropriate independence and detachment from her father upon entering the classroom. Sadie engaged in conversation with strangers and other children without any fear or reservations. With some support from her father, Sadie quickly recognized activities and materials as items for play. She showed an interest in learning, played with the alphabet, music toy. She was able to recognize letters of the alphabet and understand that a pattern applied to letters.
Sadie was able to clearly identify her toy preferences—the little shopping chart and bowling pins—to play with her father and other adults. Once, a minor conflict over a toy occurred, Sadie demonstrated empathy towards the other child and offered the toy to

Hers hands are still fisted and arms are flexed; and holds a tight palmar hand grasp. Luna is displaying primitive reflexes. When positioned in a pull-to-sit position, or placing, Luna is unable to perform the skill, yet, but appears to be developing normally and within age-appropriate development. The weight of the head weight is yielding the development temporary.
From an occupational therapist perspective, if the infant is having difficulty sleeping, eating, or adjusting to the life outside of the womb, a therapist can provide support to the parents. Early interventions from a pediatrician and occupational therapist are beneficial for the infant and parent in providing a healthy, flourishing environment. Also, a therapist can assist parents in seeking to enhance their bonding.
Again, it appears to be no developmental concerns with Luna. Luna appeared to be on the high end of development for her age and progressing appropriately. If possible, I would have liked to seen Luna attempt to roll her body, but developmentally she still does not have the idea weight for this
