For example, a guy named Jeremy thought he could make a sharp turn without knowing the proper techniques. He had seen and heard about other long-boarders making the same turn he was making. He was trying to accomplish drifting, but to do that they have gloves with pucks to help slide your hand across the concrete and he wasn’t wearing them. While making the turn he touched his hand to the ground like what he thought he was supposed to do, except he touched his hand to the ground to hard, and ended up popping his shoulder blade out of place. As a result of not knowing the proper techniques Jeremy had long term effects from this injury. He had to do physical therapy for a few weeks to strengthen the muscles around his shoulder and sometimes still has shoulder problems. All of the accidents and injuries presented above were caused by people that did not know or neglected the proper techniques for managing the faster speeds, and the proper techniques of riding a longboard. Although longboarding can be very fun, and has become very popular recently it is important to remember to learn the proper techniques before jumping on a longboard and trying to ride
