Skateboard Persuasive Speech

Many people find different values on life. Most people strive to have a big house with many fancy cars and all the latest trendy items to spoil their children with. Unlike them I believe the simpler things are what truly what people need in order to truly enjoy what life has to offer. I’d like to describe to you how something as simple as a piece of woods with wheels screwed into it; can give you a whole new perspective on life and how you value it. Skateboarding gives you a whole new perspective on the obstacles that surround you. For an example, as most people a see basic swimming pool as just something to swim in but for a skateboarder we don’t think about swimming in it at all. Matter of fact nothing makes us more happier than finding a pool already empty that is ready to be skated. When you are looking for spots you can be in the most rundown section of Fresno or near the finest establishments that LA has to offer. My brother Grant and I are constantly traveling California going up north to Eureka or down to the south near LA; with all this traveling we have been able to meet interesting characters from notorious skateboarders (like Christian Hosoi), the everyday skate “rat”, or the drug fiends that hangouts near. Concluding, this is my value in life, this is makes me happy, this is something I could always see myself doing no matter the age; as Jay Adams said, “You didn’t quit skateboarding because you got old, you got old because you quit skateboarding”. I believe if you are doing what you truly love and want to do in life that is the most precious value. I wouldn’t want to be near death or on a deathbed in regret of doing something I never wanted to or doing what society and others expected of
