When a large number of species go extinct within a short period of time, it is known as a mass extinction. There have been five of these events, that the human race knows of, since the formation of Earth, but is the sixth beginning? Many scientists believe that this is just a hoax while others believe that the Earth is in the midst of it. Not only that, but humans are the cause of it due to pollution, deforestation, etc. Some would compare humans, and their ways, to the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Studies show compelling data that supports this theory.
