I loved our house. I loved that we only lived two blocks away from my old elementary school. I loved my new middle school and all the new friendships I had made in just a year. I loved the big city life of Cedar Rapids. I loved all of it and I was happy. So when I found out we were moving to Oskaloosa, Iowa it crushed me.
In the days and weeks which followed, I had felt truly heartbroken informing all of my friends I would soon be moving to Oskaloosa. I was very anxious about moving too. I feared I wouldn’t make any new friends and be miserable in a small town. I had plenty of reasons for not wanting to move. In fact I had even tried convincing my Mom we shouldn’t move by making a list titled “100 Reasons We Shouldn’t Move to Oskapoopsa.” Unfortunately, my valiant efforts did not change her mind or change the fact that I would soon be moving two and a half hours away from Cedar Rapids to a small town I had named
