Six Pillar Essay My goal in life is to create a healthy and fundamental support beam that helps people who are in dire need of assistance. Caring is letting things matter to us, including other individuals. It means acting with attention and valuing their well-being. I feel like I have paraded this quality well during my high school experience, and my real world experiences. As teenagers we have many nights where we spend our time on our computers on our social media pages. It is easy to say that I am addicted to social media, and I am very proud of it. There have been countless nights where I have been sitting on my laptop, sipping on my coffee, checking my news feed on Facebook. All of a sudden I’d see a message notification in the corner of my computer, and it is someone who needs help. I remember specifically when one girl messaged me on Facebook, and she seemed very eager to tell me …show more content…
I have been researching colleges and the groups that they offer, and I want to join a group called “Random Acts of Care.” This group specializes in going around campus and writing notes on peoples cars, writing on the sidewalks with encouraging messages, going up to someone and complimenting them, and plenty more acts of caring. In a few years my goal is to become a secondary educator with my specialty in English. During my lifetime, I have run into a lot of people who have made me feel substandard. The feeling of being left out and left behind is something that I know too well. When I become a teacher, I want to be compassionate towards my students and their lives. I also would like to be that teacher that they remember for being humble and compassionate towards their feelings. Being able to establish a connection with your students is something that I will hold dearly to my heart. Giving back the caring and true emotions that my teachers have given me here at Northwood-Kensett will be what I strive

As a child I can remember making lists of what I wanted to be or accomplish when I grew up. Then, the list probably consisted various items including becoming a pop star, owning 30 dogs and eating ice cream for breakfast. Now as a senior in High School, my list of goals has drastically changed and helped to guide me through the college process. Quickly, I realized that my goals parallel many of the Jesuit values that Georgetown University exemplifies. It was after two service trips to West Virginia, tutoring underprivileged children once a week, and being part of my school’s Community Service Corp’s that I realized just how integral a part of service is to who I am.…

Some kids are born knowing that they want to be neurosurgeons or kindergarten teachers, and some find their “calling” in high school after taking a government class, or watching a psychologist in action. It can be a process, but almost everyone I know has settled on one option, or at least one area, by the time they’ve reached their senior year of high school. I, on the other hand, meet the question “What do you want to do when you grow up?” with wide eyes and a mouth that opens and closes like a fish having a panic attack. My problem isn’t that I haven’t found my passion; it’s that I’ve found way too many of them.…

While working toward my first bachelor 's, I had a lot of trouble deciding on a major because although my real interests were in Psychology, everyone I spoke to about it would respond slight demeaningly. I recall getting a lot of “what are…

Fascinating as it sounds, I was always intrigued to understand why fruits and vegetables spoil or often cause food poising in humans. Although, when I questioned my mother why these fruits spoil, she responded it was due to "little bugs," which was not a sufficient response.…
