Six Paragraph Rough Draft: “The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This is a section of the Second Amendment. It simply states that people have the right to protect themselves. If you were ever in a situation that was life threatening, wouldn’t you want a form of protection? How important is your safety to you? What about your family’s safety? I firmly believe that citizens who do not have a criminal record should be permitted to carry a concealed weapon. With carrying a concealed weapon comes consequences, it is a privilege that many take for granted. This privilege is a very valuable privilege, for it gives you the freedom to protect yourself from harm. But, like I stated before, by having this privilege of protection comes consequences. If you so happen to use a concealed weapon when it is not needed, for any kind of law breaking scenarios, you could end up behind bars. In the eye of the law, if you do not have a criminal background you are not considered dangerous. Therefore you are offered the privilege of protection. …show more content…
Everyone is entitled to their opinion on how they feel about the Amendment. Some may agree while others may disagree. To those who disagree, think about this. You are walking out to your car one night after a long night of work, you’re not paying much attention to your surroundings because it’s nothing new to you. As you reach for your keys to unlock your vehicle, an unexpected male appears out of nowhere, and threatens your life. He’s holding you at gunpoint, asking for all of your money, and car keys. If you were emitted a concealed carry permit, you would feel much safer in situations such as this. So why not give a law-abiding citizen the chance to defend themselves against law breaking
