Situational Leadership Theory Paper

Mccleskey(2014), cite Graeff (1997) and Grint (2011) defining situational leadership as a theory that postures effective leaders with the ability to rationally understand and identify a condition and give a rational and appropriate response. The situational leader focuses on the task at hand and give clear and definitve instructions based on their created organizational patterns. Moreover, a number of authors have argued that situational leadership theory is a behavioral theory or a theory of contingency. Most agree that both assumptions show some validity. Since situational theory focus on the behavior of the leader being task or people focused that shows similarity to the behavioral approach to leadership.
