According to the APA (2013) situational erectile dysfunction creates an inability/difficulty getting, or keeping an erection in certain situations, with certain partners, and with/without certain stimulation. Individuals with situational erectile dysfunction can, (a) have an onset after having normal sexual function, (b) have marked decrease in erectile rigidity, (c) mild distress over the symptoms experienced with the disorder, (d) may experience depression, (e) may have low self-esteem, (f) may experience stress, and (g) may be due to a diagnosis of PTSD, diabetes, and/or depression.

The client didn’t express an issue with sexual orientation, which could cause further social and school issues. According to Boskey (2013) when determining gender dysfunctions, a clinician should know that a person 's gender and how they identify themselves, as well as the sexual orientation are not the same thing.
Additionally, suicidal ideation, could be a potential problem for this client because of the teasing that she is experiencing at school. Families, especially parents of gender dysphoric children may try to get the children to conform to gender social norms and will seek treatment when they are not successful (Drescher and Byne, 2012). The parents seem to be playing a supportive role by taking the client to see a clinician. However, the parents would have to make a crucial decision on behalf of the client because she is a minor. According to Dreschel and Byne (2012) the treatment of a minor poses difficulties because there is no proven effective
