Faith in God and detachment from objective pursuits are the keys for human liberation. Sita demonstrates this in the myth when she leaves everything to be with Rama when he is banished. As for Rama he is the embodiment of dharma for he follows the codes that hold mankind together and no matter what will not omit his faith even for love. Rama and Sita are two of Hinduism most scared beings and their image are being defaced by this film. The film does not compare to Valmiki’s original piece for his depiction of the Ramayana is true and just.
In the Film “Hercules” Directed by Brett Ratner was filmed to show what happened next after Hercules (played by Dwayne Johnson) completed the twelve labors. The film differed from the original in many ways. In a way one could see as Dwayne Johnson acts, a glimmer of the myths Hercules surfaces especially in the 2nd half of the film for no matter what Hercules will not quite no matter the challenge he faces. The film portrayed a different view point to the myth and how things could have gone if certain actions were not taken. One major example and difference the film has different than the myth is in the film Hercules wife perishes alongside her sons while in the myth she lives so the death of his wife lead him to become a mercenary, this is one major difference for with the death of his wife Hercules does not perish at her hands compared to the myth. Details are what make a story great for even the smallest detail can change the entire story and lead characters down different paths. Hercules is perhaps the greatest of mythic Greek heroes. His courage, strength, skill and cunning are legendary. I personally believe the film does no justice to the actual film for Hercules is honored and admired as someone who constantly fought against and defeated evil during his lifetime, and is revered as the greatest demigod fathered by Zeus himself. Instead of creating a film that shows an alternate ending to the legendary myth the creators should create a film that shows the entire myth and its event’s for

From learning about Hercules and the Twelve Labors, and then watching the Disney version of Hercules, I saw that the two are very different from each other, yet share likenesses, Many of the differences that we see between the two are caused by the plot change. That, and of course, making the movie more family friendly influenced the overall plot. While the Disney movie Hercules is quite different from the original, Hercules and the Twelve Labors, they have several aspects in common.…

Going along with the idea of story structure, Linda Seger developed the Hero’s Myth in order to create a stable idea of how most stories are written and to establish a formula of how people enjoy stories. The tale of a hero is one of the most classic of stories, told in various forms throughout the ages. Every hero, classical and modern, has different strengths, weaknesses, and challenges that they demonstrate and face along the way, exhibiting traits that prove them a hero. While there is no doubt that the central figures of the Greek myths of Perseus, Hercules, and Atalanta are all heroes, Hercules, strong both in will and physically, stands as the best example of a classic hero. Heroes are not made without challenges, some of which they face early on in their journey. Hercules and Atalanta meet their first struggle as children, with the goddess Hera sending the former “two great snakes [that] came crawling into the nursery” (Hamilton 228), which Hercules promptly kills, and the latter being “left on a wild mountainside to die of cold and hunger” (Hamilton 246) by her father.…

What makes this story fascinating is that this story emphasizes about Dharma or duty that causes Rama, an avatar of Vishnu and son of Queen Kaushalya, to be in exile in order to defeat Ravana. Ravana is a demon who plans to silence the gods and dominate heaven. During Rama’s exile, he tries to deceive Rama through his uncle (“re?”)incarnation into a golden deer, so that Ravana can abduct his wife while Rama tries to catch it for her.…
