Everyone thought that since he was so intelligent that he should become king. After becoming the king, one day Sisyphus meets Zeus kidnapping a girl named Aegina. Zeus requested Sisyphus to not to tell the girl’s dad, Asopus where he was going to hide and then Zeus turned himself into a rock in order to not get caught by the girl’s father. When the girl’s father, the river God came looking for his daughter, Sisyphus made a deal with him by asking him to supply a fresh water spring to his community in return of telling him where Zeus took his daughter. Zeus wanted his revenge and he tried his best to get Sisyphus captured and brought to the underworld, but as we all know Sisyphus is too clever for that. He escaped everything that was thrown at him and went back to his town where then; he eventually died and ended up in the underworld. It was finally time for Zeus to get his revenge, so Sisyphus was sentenced to Tartarus. Tartarus was the place they put the worst people in Greek Mythology and give them the hardest of punishments. Sisyphus’s punishment was that he was given a huge round rock, the same size of the rock that Zeus turned himself into and Sisyphus was told to roll his giant rock up an incredibly steep hill. Tantalus was the son of Zeus and Pluto. Once Tantalus was invited to a banquet in Mt. Olympus, which was the home of the Gods. To impress the Gods, Tantalus and his wife chopped up their son, Pelops and put him into a stew to serve to the Gods. The Gods didn’t find this tasty as all, in fact after just one bite Zeus reassembled Pelops and brought him back to life, with one bite missing from his shoulder. Zeus and the other Gods didn’t find the idea of human sacrificing appealing at all. The Gods were so furious that they condemned Tantalus for eternity to be frozen at the banquet table. All that food was right by him but he just couldn’t move. Another famous story of Tantalus was that after getting a bit cocky from being invited to party with the Gods, Tantalus decided that he would share the Gods food and drink, ambrosia and nectar to the people of Earth.
