Before I start my essay, I would like to thank the National Honors Society committee at Agawam High School for selecting me to essentially become a member of an elite organization that helps our community prosper in numerous ways. I have always wanted to be part of this group of scholarly individuals since the start of freshman year. Personally, I really started to understand what the letters N.H.S. meant when I attended my sister’s induction ceremony last year. I believe the pillars of NHS including character, service, and leadership helps lead our community to become a better place. Famous psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung’s quote “You are what you do, not what you’ll say you’ll do” pertains to me in various ways. The quote simply states that
