As a sixteen-year-old Lia walks through the door, cheering and loud music is all that she hears. Walking through the door of the prestigious mansion that belonged to a random rich guy, Lia notices that the party isn’t chaotic. She starts manoeuvring around the swarm of people whilst trying to find her boyfriend, Lorenzo. Last week, Lorenzo's father passed away due to a severe stroke and as a result, Lorenzo had resorted to drinking and taking narcotics to cope with the pain and grief. This meant skipping school and always going to parties. Lia saw Lorenzo and told him to come towards her. Lorenzo sighed loudly and began walking towards Lia. "Let’s go then", groans Lorenzo as he thinks about how much fun he could've had if it wasn't for Lia. …show more content…
"I swear I've become a side chick to alcohol", mumbles Lia referring to how Lorenzo barely spends time with her anymore. They arrive at Lorenzo's house and Lia guides Lorenzo up the driveway to the entrance of the house and leads him inside to his room. "Go wash up" Lia commands a sleepy Lorenzo. As soon as Lorenzo was finished, he slumped onto his bed feeling groggy and dirty. He looked at Lia who was staring at him disapprovingly shaking her head. "I'm sorry Lia", Lorenzo was on the verge of breaking down because Lia was the last person he wanted to cause problems with. "You don't have to feel bad Enzo", Lia smiled at Lorenzo as she uses his nickname. "You should be thankful you have a responsible girlfriend you idiot" exclaims Lia as she is still upset with Lorenzo's new choice of lifestyle.
