In the beginning of each chapter in Ann Brashares' The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants includes a quote that inspires the readers to apply it to their lives . This book came about when Anna was chatting with a colleague who told all about her summer when herself and some friends shared a pair of pants . Ann's mind ran with ideas for a possible story line. Exceptly since while being in high school, having friends that had their skinny pants and their fat pants. Ann likes pants that allow women not to judge their bodies. The Traveling Pants are the kind of pants that always love you.This story includes four girl best friends;Carmen, Lena, Tibby, and Bridget that think and glorify the magic jeans. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants demonstrates how females mostly teenage have body insecurities and seem to take it out on their most clothing, specifically their pants.

While hanging out the girls admit to not liking a certain part of their bodies. As well as finding a pair of jeans from their local thrift store. All four girls have different body which leds to them not believe that the pants will fit each of their bodies.
