Sister Carrie was written in the late nineteenth century, but I could still relate to the novel. Sister Carrie did not feel outdated like some novels do. Some parts of the novel were better than others. The beginning of the chapters were a little rough, not as interesting. Once I got past the first page or two in every chapter, I got interested and could not put the book down until the end of the chapter.
