Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643 on his father's small farm. He was born to Isaac Newton Sr. and Hannah Ayscough Newton. His life was already suffused with tragedy when his father died three months prior to his birth. Although Grantham was just outside of Woolsthorpe it was too far of a walking distance to get to school everyday, so he lodged with a local apothecary and his young daughter. He was intrigued by the apothecary’s work in chemistry and spent the majority of his free time building elaborate machines to entertain the apothecary’s daughter. Newton loved attending school and especially loved his chemistry classes. He began to dive deeper into the world of science and math whilst continuously putting off forming personal relationships. Rather than act as other college students did, looking into finding a wife and forming long-lasting friendships, the most important thing to Newton were his studies. Finally, Newton was able to indulge in his preferred studies and truly excel. However, once again tragedy struck when the plague ravaged England a he was forced to move back home and continue his studies
