There are no mistakes; only lessons. I admit I’ve struggled in the past to accept this statement like Gawain; a strong yet struggling knight of the Round Table; Bedivere; a damsel but loyal knight of Arthur from the Arthurian Legend; & Max Kaine, a young becoming man & friend from the movie Freak the Mighty. Most of us know that failure is a reality of life; & at some level, we understand that it actually helps us grow. People grow in knowledge from past experiences (positive or negative). People shouldn’t let their past distract them from improving their future.
Your actions almost always have consequences in the future. That’s why it is such a shock to both Gawain & the reader of Gawain & the Green Giant when he is accepted despite the aftermath of his mistakes of being untruthful. In some circumstances, there are those who are lucky enough in the sense that their mishaps aren’t shunned, like Gawain, his faults for being unfaithful were settled when “ The king consoled him…& they [the court] laughed & resolved…& the lords & ladies..each..wear a slanted belt...with their well-loved Gawain..& wore it forever more..” (Raffel 124-125). Although Gawain got the complete opposite of being shunned for his wrong doings, he lingered & was abiding on what he had done in the past until his town eased his mind. for This proves that …show more content…
You should always take your mistakes as a lesson to learn instead of feeling bad for yourself & sulking about it; especially when it has to do with a relationship. Bedivere should’ve learned how to make decisions on his own without Arthur’s guidance for without Arthur, he feels as though he’s a lost cause. This should’ve been learned oppose to mindlessly developing bad habits & giving up everything that he’s worked
