The legend of King Arthur may have been based off of the Celtic warriors, who fought the Anglo-Saxon invaders of England. It shows many different ways of using supernatural elements. Sir Gawain really catches a reader’s eye when Gawain accepts the Green Knight’s challenge. Gawain has a year to go and hit the back of the Green Knights neck with an axe. Gawain then goes on an adventure to the Green Chapel. Gawain makes it the green chapel and chops off the Green Knight’s head, but he survives the blow, the green knight picks up his head and rides off on his horse. While on the adventure, Gawain happens to come upon a castle, where he stays until he must leave for his challenge. At the castle, Gawain had his courtesy, chastity, and honesty tempted.
