Is fear the best motivational force? Would you think that fear is the best motivational force? Well, yes it is. Some kids have convicted a felony before they have turned 18. Some people want you to turn your life around for the better to accept God and be like Him. So in other words scaring people into what might happen to them in the future makes them want to change and make their lives better. Sometimes the only way to help people change their lives around is to scare them of what might happen to them. Edwards states in "Sinners of An Angry God" that " the devil is waiting for them, hell is gaping for them, the flames gather and flash about them, and would fain lay hold on them and swallow them up; fire pent up in their own heart is struggling to break out" (41). The people who care about the ones who are in trouble, and want them to change their lives around. In the video Beyond Scared Straight the police officers and inmates did not want any of the boys to end up in prison. They want them to change their lives for the better. The police want them to fear of coming to jail because they want them to do successful things in their lives. The officers threat the boys how the inmates are treated. They showed them how prison would be like on a daily basis. The officers made sure they see that they do not get special treatment and they won't like it in prison whether they think they will or not. Kathy Feinstein states "and at first, the experience appeared to have had a desire effect. Visibly shaken, all of the teens in the film vowed that they would rehabilitate their lives, they didn't want to end up behind bars." (28). The teens wanted to change their lives. They did not want to end up in prison. They wanted a normal and successful life and that's what they got because of fearing they would end up in
