In this quote, Edwards is saying that all those who have obeyed God and were saved by him will be feasting, singing, and rejoicing in the end, while the sinners will be burning in agony. Edwards also believes that God has a different relationship with his children than Bradstreet’s views. Just from the title we can see that Edward’s believes that God is angry with all his children on Earth. They both believe that eternal life will be amazing, and they both believe that god is merciful. Other than these minor similarities, they host a plethora of difference. They have different views as to what God is like. Bradstreet believes that god is gracious and forgiving while on the other hand, Edwards believes that he is more of a brutal god that is always waiting for you to mess up. They also have different views of eternal life. Bradstreet believes that eternal life will basically be a dream-come-true, and will have everything she can ever wish for, but Edwards believe it will basically be a party of everyone celebrating that they were not sent to hell. A final major difference that can be observed from these two pieces is the human moral weakness that can be observed from each. In Bradstreet’s piece, she refers to the idolization of material possessions being the main weakness to humans, while Edwards felt that it was the free will that was given to them. In the end, these pieces are very different, and almost seem to be polar
