Sink Child Commercial Analysis

Decent Essays
when I first washed the sink child commercial I felt nostalgic about my homeland IRAQ. I've seen little girls like that doing the same thing. I also saw some of my friends that live in America and take simple mundane things for granted. it made me feel appreciative of the things that I have and thankful for the things that I enjoy every day. when I saw the Schlage "ex-girlfriend" commercial it made me feel amused because I've never seen girls do what the girl in the commercial did. my favorite commercial was the whirlpool "finding time". it made me feel warm and comfortable because it reminded me of my family and how we gather around and comfort each other.

At the very beginning of this ad the music automatically sets an easy, comforting feeling. Every scene in this commercial has an emotional affect, but there are a few that significantly seem to impact the onlooker. For example, it is assumed that most families can easily relate to the scene of the couple coming home with the little girls asleep in their arms. In a different picture, a little girl runs into her father’s embrace who seems to be coming home. Later in the commercial another young girl is shown with her father reading her a storybook.…

During the Superbowl two commercials caught my eye. Those commercials we called lumber and #WeAccept. The we accept commercials was a series of different faces put together to make on face and as all the faces are change texts comes over that says that no matter who you are or who you love or even who you worship you belong. The lumber commercial was about a girl and her mom who seemed to be refugees and you see this mom and girl travel to different spots and every different spot the little girl finds cloth or a piece of plastic. Then at the end of the commercials the mom and girl are sitting by a fire and the little girl is making something out of the cloth and plastic and the tell you to go to their website to find out what happens.…

It is everywhere, an always present force that comes from every direction. It often appears fast, catching one’s attention, then vanishing just as quick; many think they are left unscaved, yet they fail to realize its true effect works like a shadow, following a person, slowly creeping into his or her thoughts, working its mind control. It is neither flying fowl or airborne aircraft, but rather something much more mundane and overlooked. It is advertising. Some may see this as being a malevolent force, having powers too great, powers that could corrupt the minds of the unsuspecting masses.…

Whether we are aware of it or not, an effective commercial that is focused on advertising a product is meant to equally influence our attitudes towards a product. Having said that, many marketers have a number of different strategies they use in order to convince the targeted audience that they need something in their life. Notably, one of these many strategies used are rhetorical methods. One particular commercial that successfully uses rhetorical methods is the Cover Girl #GirlsCan commercial. The two ads that I have chosen are a Victoria secret I love my body campaign, and a Dove beauty campaign. The Victoria Secret ad, aimed at sex or outer beauty, shows that looking sexy is more important than inner beauty. Which has a negative effect on young girls growing up. The Dove ad, aimed at inner beauty, shows that inner beauty and happiness is all that matter and you should be happy with who you are. As a result, people make the connection that all women enjoy to be sexualized like those in the commercials and expect to be treated like so. Portrayals, such as those, create the general idea that women have the sole purpose to please people. Women are humans, not objects that serve a certain purpose. The LG That is For Me There has never been a more vivid commercial to sell a washing machine than this commercial released by LG. In LG’s commercial, it starts with clothes doing a sort of dance battle, demonstrating that whites and colors do not get along in the same washing machine. With the convenience of this new washing machine, you do not have to worry about battling with the decision of which load to do first, because whites go in one barrel and colors go in a separate barrel, running simultaneously. LG is a brand that is all about efficiency and convenience.…

Women around the world never get a break from working so hard. One woman, author Jessica Grose, wrote “Cleaning: The Final Feminist Frontier,” published in 2013 by the New Republic. In her article, she argues that men don’t do their fair share of work in the household as do women. Grose builds up her credibility by using personal experiences in her life, citing statistics, and also using some emotional appeals. In her conclusion, she uses a pathos appeal but fails to strengthen her argument by using humor.…
