Individuals from the outside looking in see an average household just without a father. In the 21st century single motherhood is look down upon, and stigmatized as having sex outside of marriage, but they are viewed as the new norm. Single mothers are seemed as lazy, poor decision makers, irresponsible, and welfare hungry. Single parenthood of women of color is known as a social problem, and bad for society.
