Since My Father's Death Nothing Matter To Me Again Analysis

Elie’s father was getting worn out by the hardships both he and his son had to go through, and on Janurary 29 he passed away leaving Elie alone. After his father’s death nothing else mattered to Elie anymore. Elie says “Since my father’s death, nothing mattered to me anymore” (Wiesel 113). Elie felt pained since he couldn’t weep over his father’s death, but deep inside he felt free because nothing was holding him back from dying.
