The holocaust was one of the biggest tragedies, a very dark moment in human civilization. It was a massacre led by Adolf Hitler. The holocaust made a great impact on the world and should never be forgotten. Simon Wiesenthal positively influenced the world by becoming a Nazi hunter to work for justice and through his many pieces of literature he educated others on the religious issue that took place as shown in the book “The Sunflower.”
Simon Wiesenthal was born at 11:30 p.m. December 31, 1908 in Buczacz Galacia also known as Buchack Ukraine. His father, Asher Wiesenthal was a whole sale. He emigrated from the Russian Empire in 1905 to escape the frequent discrimination against Jews. Asher Wiesenthal stated duty in 1914 at start of World War I and died in combat. Wiesenthal family knew about the invasion so they left when Galicia was taken over by the Russian Armies. Wiesenthal married his high school sweetheart Cyle Muller in 1936.
