I definitely agree with Sinek’s argument. I agree with his argument because I believe that we should learn to work diligently and persevere for what we want in our hands. We must not depend or rely on others for what we want, and believe that we can get it instantly. For example, back in the days, people used to write letters to each other. They would have to wait a while to receive this message. However, nowadays, we can just text, or email, and it would take less than half a second to receive the message. As we can see from this, we are so spoiled. Everything is given to us so easily that we feel that we do not need to learn the survival skills we need for the real world. I can relate to this topic because I, myself, deal with this problem. Not only do I deal with this critical problem, but many of my friends and classmates do too. I can instantly access a movie I want to watch, just by searching it up on Google. I do not even have to wait for it to come out in theaters, and ask my parents to drive me there. I watch it by myself, and I start to lose social skills. I’m losing a skill by doing this because I’m not learning to flip through an actual dictionary and work hard to find the definition I need. Another example is that my friend and her sister are in the same house. Yet, they communicate by texting each other, and they are only a room away. With our generation, we also suffer from laziness. We want everything with minimal effort to get it. This is not how reality works, and we must learn to work hard and earn our desires. My recommendation for this is for us to inform others about these flaws. The first step to every problem is to find it’s root, and take it out. By informing people, they realize their flaw, and they will try to change this if they know that they are not the only ones who have these flaws, but others do too. Another solution is for schools and companies to completely ban phones, and electronics in school, unless, it’s class sets reserved for learning purposes only. Companies should ban phones during meetings, etc. However, they should have students work together to improve their communication skills instead. As for, adults and companies, they should have their employees work together, instead of just depending on technology. These are my plans that I hope may solve
