In the passage it says that, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”(Luke 5:8). Simon confesses his sorrow for doubting Jesus. Jesus forgives him by saying that from now on he will catch men instead of fish. Moreover, Jesus is preaching his message that we should have complete faith in him. I think the Sacrament of Reconciliation resembles this passage because it highlights how Jesus will forgive all things and he asks for us to be better people. This passage specifically helps me to flourish in my faith and become more of an active participant. My personal faith has prospered and proliferated throughout the years by praying every night to Jesus and asking for his guidance to become a better individual and to help me through strenuous situations. I have faith and hope in Jesus Christ that he will look over me and guide me through the right path. I think a way that I could help others grow and thrive in their faith is by setting up faith groups or just personally talking to certain individuals when they need help. I think by just talking about situations or obstacles someone faces in their life it can increase their faith and beliefs. God calls us to spread the word of God, and we should listen to him and do so. I have experienced painful times when I have lost faith and thought I was alone; however, I was lucky enough to have certain friends to help me overcome the sadness I felt.
