Simon Bolivar was known as El Liberator by the people of Bolivia he led the drive for independence from the Spain. He was the liberator of Venezuela, Colombia, panama, Peru, Ecuador and also the founder of Bolivia. He also have a city, country and currency named after him. He was born to a rich slave owner’s family who also owned plantations, mines, and slaves. His statue is located in New York City. Bolivar dreams was to have union of countries that can overcome the powerful regional difference in South America.

The Spanish were taken by surprise by the Bolivar troops where the battle of Boyacá started and the royalist army who outnumbered the bolivar army had no option but to surrender. They managed to capture 1,800 of the Spanish soldiers along with their commander.
Upon hearing the news the Spanish and royalists in the capital left the city quickly were they left behind more than half a million pesos and in the royal store houses many necessary equipment to arm numerous army.
He worked closely with Francisco de Paula Santander a general in the New Grenada army who helped assist with the battle of Boyacá, however Santander did not share the same vision like Bolivar. He envisioned the destiny of Columbia to be a separate nation than Venezuela.
I think that Simon Bolivar did not accomplish his dream/vision. He was able to liberate Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, and many other nations, but his main goal was to unite all nations together which at some point he accomplished that when he became the dictator of Peru and president of greater Colombia which includes Venezuela Ecuador and new Grenada, and also the protector of Bolivia. However this did not last long, after some time many nations have detached themselves and went on their own
