This disorder is the explanation for his size that made him the perfect fit to fill the role of a boy ridiculed for his differences by the majority of people. Simon wears the glasses the size of himself and clothes, his favorite being a sweater Miss Wenteworth made for him. The director did an excellent job in showing the dynamics of this character in aspects of maturity. Simon voices his faith to the Lord and took the judgement with a grain of salt. Simon’s voice was high pitched and sometimes difficult to understand but when he needed to get the attention of all the screaming children the actor was sure to speak loud and clear to emphasize his voice. I have interviewed Richard with an interpreter and without one as well. I also interviewed Richard’s brother Terje Bolef, Nancy Sparks (Suspect) and Regina Birches (Richard Bolef step-mother). DHSS is recommending that the court appoints Richard Bolef a public administrator and conservator. Aside from what we can see of Simon in his relation, or lack of relation, to his sister, there is also a juxtaposition of sorts within Simon himself. Throughout the extract, Simon seems to constantly shift between different personas. Yes, he could be childish, particularly when we analyse him according to his relationship with Sorel, but he also has these intellectual episodes in the extract. These characteristics, when combined, could make Simon into a pseudo-intellectual. We can see this with his erroneous use of the French language in the extract, when discussing Sorel’s acquaintance.…

William Golding’s Lord of the Flies writes about the ideas of people’s personalities and the evil within the human heart. Set within an island, a group of young boys set out to survive and be rescued; however, it is later seen how the boys end up being wild and savage when they’re left without adult supervision. Golding depicts Simon as a scapegoat whose exceptional persona on an island of chaos and anarchy makes him a target for the stranded boys’ hatred/evil. Starting early on in the novel, Simon shows a caring, generous personality, which becomes a stigma that he is “unique” in comparison to the other boys. Even though the norm for the biguns on the beach was to ignore or not help the littluns; Simon was different in that, “Simon found…
