Simms Taback Summary

Improved Essays
I wouldn’t recommend Simms Taback’s website, as soon as I clicked on to the website it had headers such as books, posters, Caldecott, artwork, videos, and about Simms. On the website there was some solicitation for items, under posters section you must pay for the full-size posters. His artwork is also for sale on this website. I was also displeased when I reviewed his about Simms header, the interview questions are complex and something an elementary student would not ask. However, a student could read his biography and look for possible answer to their questions they may have such as where were you from. Year he was born? But for the most part his biography talks about career life through the years before he become a writer. Although the

    3. Douglas Crimp’s reading was divided into two parts, but applied Foucauldian philosophy in both parts in Crimp’s analysis after his summary of history surrounding HIV medicine. First, Crimp criticized and explained Andrew Sullivan’s discussion of HIV medicine in society, but subsequently he discussed the AIDS outbreak in the 1980s with its portrayal as depicted in And the Band Played On. Crimp’s first part included an analysed the morality in sexuality and medicine through Foucauldian philosophy, then he analysed the role of the CDC and news sources during the aids outbreak of the early 1980s. The intersection between morality and sexuality would have fascinated Foucault, yet he would diverged and not spent time on the practices of the journalists…

During my junior year at Stephen Decatur High School, I was enrolled in American Literature with Mrs. Moore. At first I thought she was a hard teacher because she made us write a lot. I enjoyed writing creative pieces, but in her class she gave us a prompt or we had to analyze a text and prove how the author believed in the American Dream or not. The first essay we wrote I scored a 29 out of 30 and was proud of myself because English has not always been my strongest subject. Our next assignment was on The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.…

In reinforcing the claim that Simcoe was indeed forward thinking, a look at his latter governing position in northern Canada provides much insight. In his journal he writes, “The Governor is very anxious to oblige and please the Indians; his only son, a child of four years old, is dressed as an indian, and called Tioga, which name has been given by the Mohawks. This harmless farce may be of use in the intercourse with the Indians.” While the Americans typically destroyed relations with the native population, Simcoe went so far as to name his only son after a Mohawk. Though this was many years after the year, this helps illustrate Simcoe’s acceptance of different cultures.…
