Compare And Contrast Football And Basketball

Football and Basketball are very popular sports and played in different parts of the world. There are some similarities between the sport with the biggest one being they are a sport and played with some type of ball. The balls used in each sport are filled with air and made of leather. Another common similarity is they are timed sports and use referees.
Each sport has its own professional team located in different cities in the United States and draw many fans to the games each year. The two sports both require equipment such as, whistle, score clock, players and coaches. Both sports use the word “field goal” however; the word has different meaning. Field goal is a kick in football and in basketball this is used when making a basket in the hoop. The field goal in football, you have to kick it through goal posts that are yellow in color and very high and a distance between them. The number of players is difference between the two sports, whereas basketball teams has 5 players on each team with 10 players on the court at the same time. A football team has 11 players on the team and there are 22 players on the football field at one time. All though the sports have common similarities there are many differences between each sport. One big difference between the each sport is they way they are played. Football is usually played outside on a turf and basketball is played indoors on a court made of a hardwood surface. Both sports use a ball to play but the size of the ball is very different between the sports. The size and how the balls are shaped are also very different.
